New EMDR Canada Membership 2023

We are currently accepting new EMDR Canada memberships.

The fee for new members is $2.

Your membership with EMDR Canada will run until early January 2024, while your membership with EMDRIA will run until December 31st 2023.

(EMDRIA has a 90 day grace period for renewals and with regard to maintaining certification with EMDRIA – so even though your EMDRIA Affiliate membership via EMDR Canada will end on December 31st 2023, we will be renewing EMDR Canada memberships in early January 2024 – this will then reactivate your EMDRIA Affiliate membership when you renew your EMDR Canada membership).

We hope to offer you discounted or reduced membership fees in 2024, as part of your first year with us in 2024. We will notify you about this soon.

Please note that the EMDR Canada membership portal is still being set up. Please also note that our new website is due to be completed by the end of November 2023.

Over the next number of months, we plan to offer a range of membership services including membership forums, a job board, and information about our annual conference in April 2024 (which will be virtual in 2024).

As part of your membership application, you will need to upload the following:

  1. EMDRIA approved EMDR TRAining CERTIFICATE OR EMDR CERTICATE OF DESIGNATION (FOR EXAMPLE, CONSULTANT).

You will need to verify the following:

  1. Membership of an EMDR Canada-approved Professional Regulatory Body (for example, a regulatory college) – see LISTING HERE.
  2. Professional Liability Insurance – EMDR practitioners must be insured for the protection of clients. Employees of agencies and students are typically covered by insurance carried by the employer or educational institution, respectively.

Please ensure that the documents you upload are pdf files. Please do not upload image files or zip files. Please do not send screenshots of required documents that are visible on laptops or mobile phones with regard to your document uploads. Please ensure that if your original document is in colour, that you upload a colour version and not a black-and-white version. Failure to adhere to these requirements will mean that we cannot process your membership.

Please do not send documents seeking EMDR certification or EMDR Consultant status – this is granted by EMDRIA (details here: https://www.emdria.org/emdr-training/emdr-certification-2/). EMDR Canada is a membership organisation, not a certification organisation for EMDRIA.

When entering your address details, please ensure that you include your postcode and a full business address – we are currently building our EMDR therapist directory for the main EMDR Canada website and it will take postcode information from our membership portal to drive the EMDR therapist directory. Thank you for your assistance in this regard.

 

We aim to process your application quickly and, assuming that your application is processed successfully, we will notify EMDRIA of your membership of EMDR Canada. You will then be given an affiliate membership of EMDRIA.
