I am a Registered Social Worker in the field since 2003. My focus is on assisting clients through various topics such as: PTSD, trauma, vicarious/ secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, grief, psycho-education, etc. My experience includes working in victim services, mental health sector, academics, research, youth justice, child protection, home care, trauma. grief and more.
More recently my interests lie in understanding the impact of trauma and longstanding stress on the body and mind. It is my belief that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgement. My abilities to merge various therapeutic approaches include but are not limited to: CBT, EMDR, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness/ Meditation and yoga (Kundalini, Hatha). These approaches have led to an effective healing strategy for my clients.
